Beating LinkedIn's Algorithm. In style!
Looking to optimise your LinkedIn profile or just generate more leads?
In order for us to develop an automation tool first we need to know the rules of the game. We know that often LinkedIn move the goalposts so we make sure we’re quick to adapt. That’s why we’ve rigorously studied LinkedIn’s profile ranking system and picked out some of the features to make your profile and posts more successful than ever before.

SSI, whether you like it or not.
As per our previous blog post, S.S.I index still influences your reach. Whenever you publish a post on LinkedIn, this will be shown to “a first organic batch”. The size of this batch depends on both your current SSI score and an “All-Star profile” rating.
Still, the correlation between a higher SSI score and better performance of your content seems less than last year. Your social selling index measures how effective you are at establishing your professional brand, finding the right people, engaging with insights, and building relationships.

The use of hashtags.
Adopting a very twitter-y approach, hashtags have now become the relevant identifier for many topics and subjects.
■ Posts with less than 3 or more than 10 hashtags have 20 – 40% less reach than posts with 3 to 9 hashtags.
■ The position of the hashtags does not influence the reach.
■ Using hashtags with a high number of followers does have a positive effect on a posts’ outreach.
■ Followers of a specific hashtag get prioritised by the algorithm over followers of a person.
■ Hashtags have the strength to become the new communities on LinkedIn, so use them strategically!
Dwelltime boosts outreach of documents/videos:
In May 2020 Linkedin introduced dwell time in their algorithm.
This measures two things :
1. How long a post is shown in a screen.
2. If people click on the “see more” link in a post and after that the additional measure screen time.
It is no longer about getting attention, but about holding it! Compared to last year the introduction of dwell resulted in the following changes:
■ Posts with documents
■ Posts with video
■ Posts with external links
■ Posts with less than 3 lines of text
